Job Summary

The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring a safe, compliant, and well-maintained working environment. The role combines Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) compliance with facility management duties to support smooth daily operations, protect employees, contractors, visitors, and company assets, and ensure adherence to local regulations and company policies.

Job Description

Responsibilities


MAIN FUNCTIONS


Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)


• Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and standards in line with company guidelines and regulatory requirements.


• Conduct regular workplace inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments.


• Identify hazards and recommend corrective and preventive actions.


• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental laws.


• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare reports and corrective action plans.


• Conduct safety inductions and toolbox talks for employees, contractors, and visitors.


• Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).


• Maintain HSE documentation, records, and reports.


• Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, including fire drills and evacuation procedures.


Facility Management


• Oversee day to day facility operations, ensuring offices, workshops, and common areas are well maintained.


• Coordinate maintenance, repairs, and servicing of buildings, utilities, and equipment.


• Supervise third party service providers (cleaning, security, waste management, maintenance).


• Ensure availability and functionality of safety equipment, firefighting systems, and emergency signage.


• Manage general housekeeping standards.


• Support facility relocations, setups, and handover processes.


• Monitor facility-related costs and report issues affecting operations.


Compliance & Coordination


• Liaise with regulatory authorities, landlords, contractors, and internal stakeholders.


• Support audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.


• Ensure environmental practices such as waste management and pollution prevention are followed.


• Assist management with HSE and facility-related reporting and recommendations.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED


•  Knowledge of Liberia employment regulation/ Labour Law


•  Knowledge of Liberia occupational health & safety regulations/laws


•  Good verbal and written communication skills


•  Computer literacy


•  Ability to work in a multi-cultural organization


QUALIFICATION


•  Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science & occupational health safety, Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.


•   Professional HSE certification is an added advantage.


•    Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in HSE and/or facility management.


•    Knowledge of local labor, safety, and environmental regulations.


Skills & Competencies


•   Strong knowledge of HSE standards and best practices.


•    Good understanding of facility operations and maintenance.


•    Excellent communication and report writing skills.


•    Strong organizational and problem solving skills.


•    Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.


•    Attention to detail and a proactive approach to risk management.


TRAVEL


•    Trips within Monrovia and outside Monrovia when required.


Working Conditions


•     Office, workshop, or site based environment.


•    May require working outside normal office hours during emergencies or audits.
