Job Summary
Reporting to the Country Manager with a dotted line to the HR General Manager, this role leads the full HR and Administration function, covering recruitment, contracts, employee relations, training, performance management, payroll inputs, and compliance with labour laws. The position also oversees administrative operations such as office management, travel, logistics, and expatriate support, while serving as the key liaison with labour authorities, unions, and government agencies. The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in HR or related field, at least 10 years of HR experience in heavy industry (preferably mining), strong expertise in labour law and collective bargaining, and proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Job Description

Reporting to the Country Manager, with a dotted line to the HR General Manager, responsibilities will include but not be limited to:


§  Oversee the full HR cycle including recruitment, onboarding, induction, and exit processes.


§  Draft, review, and register employment contracts in compliance with labour law and other relevant regulations.


§  Manage employee relations, including disciplinary procedures, grievance handling, and conflict resolution.


Implement HR policies and procedures


§  Ensure legal watch on labour law and ensure continuous compliance with local regulations.


§  Coordinate training and development programs to build capacity and support succession planning.


§  Manage performance appraisal systems and ensure timely feedback and follow-up.


§  Oversee payroll inputs and ensure accurate HR data management in HRIS (e.g. Bamboo HR).


§   Act as primary contact with labour authorities, unions, and government agencies for HR-related matters, in consultation with Country Manager and HR General Manager.


§  Provide direction and oversight to administrative functions, ensuring effective office management, document control, travel, and logistics.


§  Supervise the administrative support staff to ensure efficiency and accountability.


§  Support expatriate administration, including work permits, visas, accommodation, and travel arrangements.


§  Prepare HR reports for management review.


§  ·Promote a positive organisational culture, teamwork, and staff engagement initiatives.


§  Ensure overall coordination of annual meetings and external events, in collaboration with the administrative team.


Person Specification:


§  Master’s degree Human Resources or a related field; relevant certification


§  10 years’ experience in Human resources in heavy industry, preferably in mining or similar sector.


§  Experience negotiating and implementing Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA).


§  Strong knowledge of labour law and HR best practices


§  Proven track record in managing recruitment, contracts, and employee relations


§  Experience in overseeing administration and support services is preferred


§  Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.


§  High level of integrity, discretion and cultural awareness


§  Proficiency with HR systems and Microsoft Office Suite
