Job Summary
Gurus HR Consultancy Group, a leading HR and recruitment firm in Liberia, is recruiting 2 Heavy Duty Truck Driver Supervisors on behalf of its client, BVS Earth Movers. The successful candidates will be responsible for coordinating, supervising, and managing drivers to ensure that daily transportation and operational targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and on schedule. The Driver Supervisor will receive the daily work program from the Operations In-Charge, organize and assign drivers and vehicles accordingly, monitor driver performance, ensure compliance with safety requirements and company procedures, and communicate operational challenges and progress to management. Candidates should have strong leadership, coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills, with relevant experience supervising heavy-duty truck drivers or transport operations.

2. Key Responsibilities
- Receive the daily work program and transportation schedule from the Operations In-Charge.
- Allocate drivers and vehicles according to the daily operational requirements.
- Organize and coordinate drivers to ensure that daily targets are achieved.
- Brief drivers on their daily assignments, routes, schedules, targets, and operational requirements.
- Monitor drivers throughout the working day to ensure that assigned tasks are completed efficiently.
- Ensure drivers follow instructions given by the Operations In-Charge and other authorized supervisors.
- Coordinate the deployment and movement of drivers based on operational priorities.
- Monitor driver attendance, punctuality, availability, and performance.
- Ensure that drivers report for duty on time and are properly prepared for their assignments.
- Track daily progress against assigned targets and take corrective action where performance is falling behind.
- Communicate operational challenges, delays, vehicle problems, and other issues to the Operations In-Charge.
- Coordinate with the Safety Officer to ensure that drivers comply with all safety requirements and speed restrictions.
- Ensure drivers do not exceed company or site-approved speed limits.
- Monitor compliance with vehicle inspection, maintenance, PPE, seat-belt, and other safety requirements.
- Report accidents, incidents, unsafe driving, or violations of company procedures to Management.
- Ensure that drivers properly complete trip sheets, vehicle logs, delivery records, and other required documentation.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team regarding vehicle breakdowns, servicing, and repairs.
- Reassign drivers or vehicles when necessary to minimize operational delays.
- Conduct regular briefings and toolbox meetings with drivers where required.
- Address minor performance and disciplinary issues and escalate serious or repeated violations to Management/HR.
- Maintain effective communication between drivers and the Operations In-Charge.
- Promote teamwork, discipline, accountability, and professional conduct among drivers.
- Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the Operations In-Charge or Management.
3. Daily Driver Management
The Driver Supervisor shall ensure that each day:
- The operational program is received from the Operations In-Charge.
- Drivers and vehicles are properly allocated.
- Drivers understand their assignments and daily targets.
- Vehicles are available and fit for operation.
- Drivers comply with safety requirements.
- Progress toward daily targets is monitored throughout the shift.
- Delays and operational problems are immediately communicated.
- End-of-day performance and completed assignments are reported to the Operations In-Charge.
4. Qualifications and Experience
- Previous experience supervising drivers or transport operations.
- Experience in logistics, transportation, construction, mining, industrial operations, or a similar environment is preferred.
- Good knowledge of vehicle and driver safety requirements.
- Ability to organize and coordinate multiple drivers and vehicles.
- Good communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet daily operational targets.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare basic operational reports.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.
