Job Summary
Gurus HR Consultancy Group, a leading HR and recruitment firm in Liberia, is recruiting 25 Liberian Heavy Duty Truck Drivers on behalf of its client, BVS Earth Movers. The successful candidates will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely transportation of company materials, equipment, goods, and personnel as assigned. Candidates must possess a valid Heavy Duty Truck Driving Licence, have relevant driving experience, follow instructions from supervisors, comply with all road and workplace safety requirements, observe prescribed speed limits, and ensure that assigned vehicles are properly maintained and kept in good operating condition. Candidates must demonstrate discipline, reliability, safety awareness, and the ability to meet daily operational targets.

2. Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy trucks and other assigned vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Possess and maintain a valid driving licence appropriate for heavy trucks and ensure all required driving documents remain valid.
- Follow all instructions and directions provided by supervisors, Transport/Operations Management, and authorized personnel.
- Comply strictly with the company's Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
- Do not exceed the speed limits or speed restrictions established by the Safety Officer, company policy, road regulations, or site requirements.
- Adjust driving speed according to road, weather, traffic, and site conditions, even where the posted speed limit is higher.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the assigned vehicle before and after each journey.
- Check tyres, brakes, lights, oil, coolant, fuel, steering, warning systems, and other critical vehicle components.
- Report any vehicle defect, mechanical problem, accident, incident, or unsafe condition immediately to the supervisor.
- Ensure that loads are properly secured, covered, and distributed before transportation.
- Ensure that the vehicle is not overloaded and operates within its legally and manufacturer-approved capacity.
- Transport materials and goods to designated locations according to the approved schedule and instructions.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, fuel consumption, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance as required.
- Keep the assigned vehicle clean and in good working condition.
- Observe all road traffic laws and regulations and comply with security and site-entry requirements.
- Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when entering or working within designated operational areas.
- Follow designated routes and site traffic-management procedures.
- Never operate the vehicle under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any substance that may impair driving ability.
- Do not use a mobile phone or engage in other distracting activities while driving.
- Report accidents, near misses, traffic violations, vehicle damage, or safety concerns immediately.
- Assist with loading and unloading activities where required and where it can be done safely.
- Cooperate with mechanics and maintenance personnel during vehicle servicing and repairs.
- Ensure all company property, equipment, materials, and documents carried in the vehicle are properly safeguarded.
- Maintain professional conduct when interacting with clients, suppliers, colleagues, government officials, and members of the public.
- Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the Supervisor or Management.
3. Safety Responsibilities
The Driver is expected to make safety the highest priority at all times. The driver shall:
- Strictly observe all instructions issued by the Safety Officer and supervisors.
- Never exceed prescribed site or company speed limits.
- Stop work or driving and immediately report any condition that presents a serious safety risk.
- Always wear the required PPE when working in operational areas.
- Follow seat-belt requirements at all times.
- Maintain a safe following distance and drive defensively.
- Never carry unauthorized passengers.
- Never operate an unsafe or defective vehicle.
- Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and relevant training when required.
4. Qualifications and Requirements
- Valid Heavy Truck Driving Licence recognized by the relevant Liberian authorities.
- Previous experience driving heavy trucks, preferably in construction, logistics, mining, industrial, or similar environments.
- Knowledge of road traffic laws and defensive driving practices.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle inspection and routine maintenance.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or overtime when required.
- Physically fit to perform the duties associated with heavy-truck driving.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety.
