Technician

The Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and rectifying complex faults on Caterpillar machines and equipment while adhering to Caterpillar service standards and procedures.

The Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and rectifying complex faults on Caterpillar machines and equipment while adhering to Caterpillar service standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults on Caterpillar equipment.


• Utilize Caterpillar systems and technical resources, including:




• Service Information System (SIS)


• Service Information Resource (SIR)


• Parts Books


• Service Manuals




• Prepare technical service reports in accordance with Caterpillar standards.


• Read and interpret Caterpillar hydraulic and electrical schematics.


• Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs to ensure equipment reliability and performance.


• Maintain a safe working environment and comply with company HSE policies and procedures.


• Provide technical support to customers and colleagues as required.

Qualifications and requirements:

Education

• Diploma/BSC  in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Experience

• Minimum of two (2) years' experience maintaining and repairing heavy equipment, preferably Caterpillar machinery.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.


• Ability to interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics.


• Proficiency in using technical manuals and diagnostic tools.


• Good hand skills for field repairs and maintenance activities.


• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.


• Good report-writing and presentation skills.


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other reporting tools.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
