Job Summary

To manage effectively FABL regulatory reporting governance structure, systems and controls.

Job Description

Strategic/Financial


¨      Develop and implement the mandates of Regulatory Reporting within FABL.


¨      Support effective cost management across functions, and in preparation of commentaries.


¨      Assess and regularly monitor existing FABL regulatory reporting framework to identify potential areas of control weakness or greater efficiency.


¨      Drive for implementation of FABL policies i.e. operational risk, financial control and local compliance requirements for finance processes.


¨      Oversee the process of regulatory audits, assessments and internal/ external audits in relation to regulatory reporting.


¨      Ensure compliance with Financial Control Policy.


¨      Direct Regulatory Reporting working committee and support Head of Compliance & Regulatory Risk to report issues to Regulatory Reporting Governance Committee where applicable.


¨      Coordinate with regulators to identify new reporting requirements and establish to what extent the Bank’s existing MIS meets the regulators requirements.


Customer


¨      Partner with key stakeholders in reporting system automation process.



¨      Participate in periodic meetings of EXCO, Disciplinary committee, etc


Operations


¨      Align effectiveness of Ghana regulatory reporting Manual in line with current FABL structure.


¨      Review control gaps on regulatory reporting procedure and initiate corrective measure plans.


¨      Ensure and provide support in compliance of regulatory reporting requirements.


¨      Provide statistical surveys reporting to individual departments


contribute  and review month end closure. leading to submission of monthly management and quarterly IFRS pack reporting.


¨      Manage and maintain Regulatory Reporting Inventory System and ad hoc reporting system in alignment with dynamic reporting requirements, i.e. periodically review integrity of data.



¨      Provide support for accounting guide on new products including existing product renewals in accordance with FABL Accounting policies and regulatory reporting/ implication.


¨      Prepare periodic management reports detailing performance of unit

¨      Supervise activities of unit members and provide coaching, mentoring and training as appropriate.


Monitor/manage performance of subordinates against pre-assigned goals and conduct performance appraisals as required

Qualifications & Certifications


¨      A University degree in Accounting/Finance or other related disciplines.


¨      Post-graduate or professional qualification is an advantage.


 



Working Experience


¨      Minimum of 7 years working experience with at least 2 years in supervisory level, within the Banking industry.
