To develop methodologies, models and processes for management and measurement of Credit Risk across the bank.

Job Description

Responsibilities


Strategic/Financial


¨      Ensure credit policies and procedures are adhered to by bank staff and provide sanctioning where necessary.


¨      Compile annual business unit credit risk action plans for FABL in conjunction with internal stakeholders.


¨      To be responsible for identifying, measuring, monitoring, controlling or mitigating, and reporting on all credit risk exposures.


¨      Assist in refinement, development, and implementation of the Credit Risk Management framework for FABL and aligning it to the future needs of the bank.


¨      Manage the design and delivery of fit for purpose management information across the credit portfolio to ensure accurate and consistent reporting across FABL.



¨      Prepare unit budgets and monitor compliance to budget. 


Customer


¨      Serve as a subject matter expert to the process owners or product team to ensure adequate internal control by supporting the development teams to assess the potential risks, calculating potential loss and the cost of control.


¨      Liaise regularly with relevant stakeholders on various credit issues and work on ensuring prompt turnaround time in unit functions.



¨      Interact with senior management on various credit/process issues.


¨      Participate in periodic meetings of EXCO, Disciplinary committee, etc 



Operations


¨      Coordinate the collection of supporting information and evidence documentation for formal attestation processes.


¨      Implement process improvements for risk management including automation of credit processes.


¨      Conduct and document audits of client compliance to industry standards.


¨      Review bank credit programs and approve credits and credit issues as per assigned limit.


¨      Review and approve loan disbursement ensuring all pre-post approval conditions are adhered to.


¨      Act as the focal point and take accountability for internal and external audits ensuring audit issues are addressed.


¨      Prepare periodic management reports detailing performance of unit.


People


¨      Provide training to unit staff and relationship managers as necessary.


¨      Supervise activities of department members and provide coaching, mentoring and training as appropriate.


¨      Monitor/manage performance of subordinates against pre-assigned goals and conduct performance appraisals as required.
