To plan, design and develop the Network technology infrastructure ( CORE CS and PS, Access Radio 2G/3G/4G/WIMAX, Transmission MW/ FO and IP Data ) and timeously avail the capacity and functionality required to support the business immediate and future requirements while keeping track of the technological trends and advising the business about their appropriateness, reliability, efficiency, alignment and value to the Business objectives.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
Project and asset management
- Execute and monitor planned asset life cycle.
- Maintain detailed asset life cycle by working through inventory, EOL (End of Life) and technology requirements.
- Perform procurement research prior to current generation end of life by obtaining sample tests and builds of next generation technology to create migration plans.
- Work with internal stakeholders to gracefully retire production assets.
Act as a catalyst for Network infrastructure quality change.
- Translate the Business objectives into low level plans and projects.
- Network capacity planning to meet the demand and need of business.
- Network design to create operational efficiency and resilience.
- Constantly researching into the technological trends and evolution and advising the business of their appropriateness and alignment to the business objectives
- Building Business cases to determine value and motivation of the NWT projects as well as well as undertake their post implementation evaluation.
- Preparing budgets necessary for the realisation of the capital projects and well as departmental business requirements
- Police financial governance framework is adhered to by self, team, partners and vendors.
- Provide leadership to the team and mobilise to attain the departmental, business and Group goals.
- Support and continuously develop the Company/departmental policies and processes to adapt them to the changing business, market and regulatory environment.
- Timely decision making for department to enable the business retain leadership in the market.
- Be the fountain through which the team sees the MTN Values and through which the vital behaviours are exhibited.
- Represent the department, support and coordinate with other departments for the common business objectives.
- Manage, spearhead or champion special projects and initiatives set up by the company, Regulator and/or MTN Group
- Organisational structuring, re-engineering and alignment to the business objectives
- Resource/Talent Recruitment, and Development
- Staff Performance managements
- Recruit and develop for the personnel in the department.
- Set goals and objectives for direct reports, monitor progress and maintain motivation.
- Manage performance of team.
- Provide functional, technical and Operational leadership.
Work time span:
Between 6 months and 2 years.
