About the Role
As a Staff Accountant, you will play a key role in shaping our company’s financial success. From managing accounts to ensuring tax compliance, you will contribute significantly to our operations and decision-making processes.

Objectives of this role



  • To provide financial and accounting support to in-country management and group

  • To ensure compliance with statutory reporting, tax and other regulations

  • To maintain internal controls


Responsibilities



  • Prepare and report monthly and quarterly management accounts for group and management

  • Support auditors for external audits

  • Payments and petty cash management, and bank reconciliations

  • Statutory accounting for Liberian entities

  • Support for group finance function

  • Tax filing and compliance

  • Ensure internal controls and policies are complied with

  • Support third-party payroll and other service providers

  • Other financial and accounting matters


Required skills and qualifications



  • Professional experience in accounting

  • Knowledge of accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize effectively

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of company and client information

  • Desire to continue professional growth through training


Preferred skills and qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in accounting, business accounting, or finance

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license/ Chartered Accountant license or equivalent (preferred)

  • Experience in audit accounting

  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

  • Familiarity with standard industry accounting software and ability to learn and adapt to new accounting platforms (inc Xero and SAP)

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
