Crowe Liberia LLC, a Member Firm of Crowe Global, is seeking a strategic and experienced Chief Accountant to support our firm’s growth and strengthen our financial governance. Reporting directly to the Managing Partner/CEO, the Chief Accountant will provide leadership in financial reporting, accounting oversight, compliance, and operational support. This role is central to ensuring that our systems, performance insights, and internal controls support sound business decisions and uphold the core values of transparency, accountability, and professional integrity.
As Chief Accountant, you will:
· Provide financial analysis and advisory support to management.
· Lead month-end close processes, including reconciliations and journal postings.
· Coordinate with the Managing Partner to meet reporting and workflow deadlines.
· Assess accounting systems and collaborate with IT in enhancing efficiency and performance.
· Prepare timely financial statements and management reports for review.
· Investigate discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
· Monitor expenditure trends, revenue performance and analyze variances for reporting.
· Respond promptly to finance-related queries raised by management.
· Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to accounting staff and cashiers.
· Support budgeting processes and cost management initiatives.
· Participate in audits by preparing documentation and responding to queries.
· Ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with firm policies, standards, and regulations.
· Review existing accounting procedures and recommend improvements.
Execute additional duties assigned by the Partners
We are looking for a committed, technically strong professional with the following profile:
· A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognized university in Liberia or abroad.
· A professional accounting qualification is a strong advantage.
· Proven working experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role, preferably in a local public accounting practice, with solid knowledge of accounting and taxation.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, and good general IT literacy.
· Primarily Hands-on experience using QuickBooks with knowledge of other accounting software as an added advantage.
· Familiarity with International Financial Reporting Frameworks, such as IFRS and GAAP.
· An analytical mindset with high attention to detail and accuracy.
· High ethical standards, integrity, and a strong commitment to confidentiality.
· Ability to work collaboratively in diverse and multidisciplinary teams and manage competing priorities.
