RESPONSBILITIES:
Support the SRHR Schools/Community club in strengthening SRHR/SGBV protection activities. Facilitate an effective SGBV case internal and external referral of SGBV survivors in consultation with supervisor and RYMI Senior Staff. Facilitate to sensitize populations in key topics as directed by mm and RYMI. Liaise with stakeholders at schools and community level.
Protection
· Strengthen and maintain SGBV/SRHR clubs within the assigned Schools/community
· Visit and support SRHR Clubs on a weekly basis
· Liaise and coordination of work through weekly district based visits to police stations, health centres in collecting data, S/GBV case management or conduct sensitization activities with Community/Schools based clubs
· Conduct SGBV awareness rising using either group work or house-to-house awareness as suitable communication strategy.
· Propose and advise on awareness raising subjects to supervisor according to emerging needs on community level.
· Identify S/GBV, SEA, harmful traditional practices and other conflictive cases for systematic reporting, including compromised cases.
Planning and Reporting
· Prepare weekly operational reports
· Support school/community clubs in their weekly reporting
· Prepare and submit weekly, monthly work plans.
The Community Mobilizer needs to have flexibility to carry out other tasks when needed which are not mentioned in this description.
Desired Skills and Competencies
The successful candidate should possess the following skills and competencies:
AA degree in Education/Social Sciences (e.g., Social Work, Sociology) Gender Studies etc… or a related field.
· Minimum of 3 years of experience in community development and School related work.
· Experience working with non-profit organizations, particularly those focused on girl’s rights, youth mentorship, SRHR.
· Strong ability to facilitate group discussions, leads stakeholder consultations, and communicates complex ideas clearly.
· In-depth understanding feminist leadership principles.
· Demonstrated experience in facilitation
