Role Overview:
As a Health and Safety Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring that all work environments comply with health and safety regulations and best practices. You will work closely with Managers on Site, contractors, and employees to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments.
- Ensure compliance with local and national health and safety regulations.
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures.
- Deliver training sessions and toolbox talks to site contractors and / or personnel.
- Investigate incidents and accidents (if any), and prepare detailed reports.
- Maintain accurate records of safety audits, inspections, and incidents.
- Liaise with other regulatory bodies and ensure all documentation is up to date.
Requirements:
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent (essential).
- First Aid Certificate.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role within the Cement Manufacturing sector.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Valid Identification Card (National ID, Driver’s License, Passport) and willingness to work with minimum or no supervision.
Desirable:
- Membership of a professional body.
- Experience working with subcontractors and multi-disciplinary teams.
- First Aid certification.
